DAY 8 OF SHANGHAI... (EDIT)
Went to the same restaurant for breakfast again. omgomgomg the same waitress was there again.. XD Went to antique street after breakfast. I bought the little red book that Mao Tze Tung wrote!! Only RMB 15.. dang coool, flipped through it.. wow.. almost slept..
Cool, they brought us to this art street that the government wanted to tear down. But since all the artists converged there, they didn't do so in the end. We found this dang coool 100+ year old German piano. George, who is grade 5, played titanic.. the sound came out a bit weird cos one of the string snapped. Then YiShu who is a grade 8, started playing Canon D.. so the two of them just kept playing and playing.
The people working there stopped to listen. Claudine and kathleen were also invited to go see the mini performance. Of course, i had to show off my talent too eh? So i sat down and played silent night. The air resonated with the sound of silence. hahahahhaahaha i offered to play Jay Chou's Anjing but they all wanted joel to play.. for rather good reasons too.. hahahahahah XDD
That's George!!
That's the piano!!
Went to Yuyan.. ate noodles for lunch.. LuHan got scammed again. His noodles were RMB 29 but were not as nice as ours that cost only RMB 19. hahahaha poor him.. we were given a crossword puzzle and supposed to ask people for the answers. But we just filled it in based on general knowledge.
Went to some place, i think it's mo gan shan lu. it's like 1 k.m. of shopping. Think Orchard road and stretch it till it's 1 k.m. .. coool!! We discussed our businees plan in MacDonald's.. We met up with Bright Spark and they told us bout this shoe shop in some alley.. So we broke up and went together to the shop. We were a bit scared about going in cos it was located in this alley, and u had to walk into a dark passage and climb up the stairs. So we waited near there till we spotted some other tourists going in too. Then we followed. hahahha we hatched a very simple but elaborate scheme. We were all going to pretend we are malaysians. (Cos if we say we are from Singapore, they know that the exchange rate is 1:5. They will jack the price up by a lot more.)And i am the only one who knows how to speak English and Chinese. The rest were supposed to know only english and malay. Hahhaha the shop keeper thought i was from China and kept saying "dou shi zhi ji ren". hahahaha i didn't really argue with her on that point.
Joe saw a shoe that is like RMB 200 and asked me to help him bargain it to RMB 90.. hahaha the ironic thing is that he is in higher chinese and he's asking me to translate for him.. ahhahaha but that's part of the act. omgomgomg, he almost let slip a few chinese words. The shop people were rather reluctant to give us RMB 90, so we just climbed down the narrow flight of stairs and were about to go when they came over and kept saying RMB 120 is the lowest. We just told them RMB 90 is the highest and walked off. Then they came running over and were like "ok ok, 90 for u" hahahha victory!!
We went back up and while joe was fiiting into his shoe, the guy asked me where are the rest from. i was like "Malaysia". i was like "i'm from malaysia too." They were all a bit shocked, cos they kept thinking that i'm from China. Actually i was thinking to myself whether i shld tell them i'm not from China. Because if they still think i am from China, they are bound to ask me which part of China i am from. And i cannot think of any part of china that speaks the pure form of mandarin except Beijing. Since i didn't use the beijing accent from the start, it would be quite weird if i suddenly start using that accent. So i said "Malaysia!!" hahahaha omg and they complimented the way i spoke.. they were like "you speak chinese like a china chinese.." ahhahaha omgomgomg my spoken chinese is soooo dangg lousy.. hahahahaha what an elaborate scam.. hahahaha :)))))
Went back to meet the rest for dinner at Yi Cha Yi Hu. I ordered beef!!! The ambience and food were verryyy nice.. the toilet was nice too.. hahahahhaha
After dinner, it was time for the river cruise.. i almost lost my ticket!! cos i accidentally dropped it.. luckily i found it.. hahahaha the river cruise was very nice.. ahhaha the breeze on the deck was dang coooling and nice.. hahahahhaa the sights of shanghai is really dang nice.. a lot of buildings had lights all over them.. dang cool..
That's Mr. Karl Lee!!!! cool teacher.. :)
That's the pearl tower!!! dang shouldn't take pics of a boat.. :(
Went back to hotel room after cruise.. went to play pool!!!! ahhahahahhaa played from 10 till 12.35? hahahaha and omgomg i realised i had the key!!! so yiwen was kinda locked out.. hahahaha woots sorry yiwen.. but luckily he was inside tim's room watching t.v. hahahaha omg the tobacco smell on me was dang strong.. had to air my shirt. hahahaha i had to drag myself to bathe and everything.. before dropping dead on the bed.. ahhahahaha
